David Crookall has been using experiential learning activities his whole life, first as a kid, then in his professional life, mostly using simulation/games. He is now retired, but still at it. He has held positions in several universities, in the USA, France, Singapore and Thailand. For many years, he was editor in chief of the main academic journal in simulation/gaming, and has published widely (articles and books). He is an honorary member of the International Simulation and Gaming Association (ISAGA). He is currently lead guest editor of a special issue of the European Geoscience Union (EGU) journal Geoscience Communication, on the theme of climate & ocean education & communication
